Mayor, Village of Bolingbrook
Jackie Traynere is a lifelong resident of Bolingbrook who has dedicated herself to keeping her community a great place to live and raise a family. This commitment is rooted in Jackie’s own experience of growing up in Bolingbrook and attending Bolingbrook High, and it’s why she raised her children right here in her hometown. As a child at Northview Elementary School, Jackie experienced firsthand the positive influence local leaders can have on the community when her fourth-grade class successfully lobbied the Governor to get crosswalk and guard put in place over route 53 so her classmates could safely walk to school. As an adult, this early experience inspired Jackie to volunteer with the local Democratic party and later run for local office so she could give back to the community. Jackie’s commitment to helping people extends to her professional life as well: she works as an organizer for the American Federation of Government Employees. She helps workers organize for higher wages, improved working conditions and reliable benefits. In addition to working with AFGE members for the past 22 years, Jackie started her own small business, The Cleaning Authority. She and her husband Joe have grown the company each year while working with an organization called Cleaning for A Reason, a non-profit giving women with cancer free home cleanings while they are undergoing chemo and radiation therapy.
