A life-long resident of Berwyn, Cynthia M. Hayes cares deeply for her community. She attended Pershing Elementary School and graduated from Morton West High School. During her time at Morton West, she was recognized in Springfield by Governor Jim Edgar for her work to bring awareness of the dangers of Fetal Alcohol Syndrome. Cynthia went on to attend Morton College and Northern Illinois University, earning degrees from both institutions. The mother of two beautiful daughters, Cynthia lives in South Berwyn with Mark, her husband of 19 years. After a successful career in retail management and starting a family, Cynthia felt called to make a difference in the community. Currently, in addition to holding two jobs, Cynthia serves as a member of the Berwyn Library Board of Directors, and she is president of the PTA at Hiawatha Elementary and president of the Morton West Band Parents Association. She works as church secretary at Faith Community Church in Stickney and is an employee of South Berwyn School District 100. Cynthia has a passion for child literacy and ensuring our children are well-prepared for their future.
